Smart Rewards Platforms Bring Digital Marketing to Brick and Mortar Businesses

smart-rewards-platform-brings-digital-marketing-to-brick-and-mortar-businessesBusinesses across North America have seen over the last decade increased competition both online and offline. This has resulted in a fragmented customer base that is less likely to be loyal and more likely to buck the traditional shopping experience of brick and mortar stores and malls.

With a smart rewards platform, retail business owners have the ability to truly know their customers and what they’re buying, in order to create an Amazon-like shopping experience. Businesses can identify high value customers, provide product recommendations, and deliver personalized offers and rewards.

Between Yair and Amichay, the two had essentially cracked the code for online 1:1 messaging and personalization via targeted ads. The two created AppCard to solve that same problem for brick and mortar stores to close the loop on the entire shopping journey.

AppCard is a third generation loyalty, rewards and marketing platform for small, medium and franchise-sized businesses. AppCard’s patented technology analyzes transactions at the retail point of sale (POS) and delivers actionable data to business owners.

AppCard was founded by Yair Goldfinger (formerly the co-founder of ICQ, the first internet wide instant messaging platform – and online retargeting company, Dotomi) and Amichay Oren (VP R&D of Vonage and CTO of JAJAH).

Merrick Rosner, VP Enterprise Sales explained “Between Yair and Amichay, the two had essentially cracked the code for online 1:1 messaging and personalization via targeted ads. The two created AppCard to solve that same problem for brick and mortar stores to close the loop on the entire shopping journey.”

AppCard captures 100% of the customer’s receipt information when they check out at the store and automatically awards points and/or punches to the customer’s account. Business owners are then able to get a 360° view of their customers, including when the customer came into the store, the dollar value of the transaction and the individual items the customer purchased!

Once a merchant has this data in an actionable format, they can then communicate to their customers one-to-one (through text and email) based on previous buying cycles and spending habits. Business owners can use AppCard’s Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to analyze shopper behavior and create personalized marketing campaigns that deliver the right message, to the right customer, at the right time.

Through AppCard’s patented technology and direct integration with a number of POS providers, the company has seen extraordinary growth in the last few years. In early 2016, AppCard secured $20M in Series B Funding from tech giants including Jerry Yang (Yahoo), Peter Thiel (Paypal) and Eric Schmidt (Google).

Alexander Rittweger, the founder of PAYBACK, the world’s largest coalition loyalty platform in the world with over 70 million members, helped lead the funding round and also joined the AppCard board stating “I’m convinced that AppCard’s advanced technology will help us build a performance-marketing platform unrivalled in the small and medium-sized business marketplace.”

AppCard’s technology has empowered thousands of businesses across multiple verticals to provide an effective and powerful loyalty tool to ensure customers keep coming back time and again.
